The Northwestern experience isn't limited to campus.

Northwestern students have the opportunity to explore the world, extend their reach and enhance their learning through hundreds of study abroad programs spanning the globe. A study abroad adviser can help choose a general program that includes music courses or one of the programs below, which are specifically for music majors.
Northwestern Study Abroad Office

Credit for private lessons abroad will only be accepted toward the Northwestern degree if approval from the applied lesson instructor in the Bienen School is obtained. Students should consult with Linda Jacobs, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, for courses that may substitute for music major requirements. In some cases, the approval of the program coordinator will also be necessary. Students should research the descriptions of the classes they plan to take abroad to confirm with the assistant dean that the classes correspond with requirements at Northwestern.
