Widely recognized as one of the most important piano competitions in the world, the quadrennial Van Cliburn International Piano Competition has identified and ushered a host of exceptional artists to international prominence since its founding in 1962. The 2017 event will be held from May 25 through June 10 at Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth, Texas.

Lee was one of only 30 pianists among nearly 300 applicants worldwide invited to the competition.

Each competitor will present a 45-minute recital as part of the preliminary round, which continues through May 28. Lee will perform works by Haydn, Debussy, Chopin and Hamelin. Twenty pianists will advance to the quarterfinals.
