Beatrice Rana attracted international attention in 2011, when she won first prize and all special prizes at the Montreal International Competition at age eighteen. Rana performs at the world’s most esteemed concert halls and festivals including Vienna’s Konzerthaus and Musikverein, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, and New York’s Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. She collaborates with conductors such as Paavo Järvi, Leonard Slatkin, and Zubin Mehta. In 2015, Rana’s first album with Antonio Pappano and the Accademia Nazionale Santa Cecilia di Roma, featuring piano concertos of Prokofiev and Tchaikovsky, received international acclaim, including the prestigious Gramophone Editor’s Choice and BBC Music Magazine’s Newcomer of the Year Award. In June 2013, Rana won Silver and the Audience Award at the prestigious Van Cliburn Competition.

Located in the Ryan Center for the Musical Arts, this 400-seat hall features a 40-foot glass wall offering views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline. Undulating walls of Forest Stewardship Council–certified wood, covered with a thin layer of African moabi wood, provide optimal acoustics, and the hall is equipped with state-of-the-art sound and video equipment for recording.
