Duo Piano Master Classes Opening Recital

Xiaomin Liang and Jue He, piano 

Grand prize winner of the 18th Tokyo International Duo Piano Competition, third prize winner in the Liszt 200 International Two-Piano Competition, and Chicagoland’s first Young Steinway Artists, the Liang-He Duo has received acclaim for its artistry and synchronicity. The duo has performed in festivals and concert series throughout Asia and North America and has frequently been featured on Chicago classical radio station WFMT. Their repertoire explores the classics of two-piano literature and also incorporates new works through commissions. Both Xiaomin Liang and Jue He received their doctoral degrees in piano performance from Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music.

Located in the Ryan Center for the Musical Arts, this 400-seat hall features a 40-foot glass wall offering views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline. Undulating walls of Forest Stewardship Council–certified wood, covered with a thin layer of African moabi wood, provide optimal acoustics, and the hall is equipped with state-of-the-art sound and video equipment for recording.
