Applying for Bachelor of Music or Bachelor of Arts in Music Degree

The materials below are required to complete the application for admission to all undergraduate programs in music.  You are responsible for ensuring that they are received by the University’s Office of Undergraduate Admission by January 1. For official Northwestern University requirements, refer to www.ugadm.northwestern.edu/apply/ .

• Common Application and Northwestern University Supplement
• Secondary School Report (includes high school transcript and counselor recommendation letter)
• Academic Teacher Recommendation
• Music Teacher Recommendation (preferred but not required)
• Required Standardized Test Scores
• Nonrefundable Application Fee ($65)
• Performance audition (some areas require prescreening, due by December 1)

EARLY DECISION Applicants: You must gain permission from the Office of Music Admission and Financial Aid prior to applying to the Bienen School of Music under Early Decision.  Please contact us at 847-491-3141 in early October for more information.  Students who are permitted to apply Early Decision must submit the Early Decision Agreement (PDF). If you are applying Early Decision, the Early Decision Agreement must be completed online through the Common Application website.
