The Northwestern University School of Music offers a wide range
of programs and opportunities for professional music educators,
serious music students as well as non-majors, high school students,
and community members. The session runs for six weeks,
generally from mid-June to the end of July. Among the highlights
are:
For Professional Music Educators
Earn
a master’s degree in four summers.
A select
number of veteran music teachers are invited to return to
the college classroom and experience the latest concepts in music
education – free of charge.
Note: A special tuition rate is offered
to professional educators; but does not apply to those pursuing
a Northwestern degree. Also, in some instances, school administrations
are willing to pay for all or a portion of tuition. CPDU
CREDITS for State of Illinois public school teachers
are available for many of the summer courses. For information,

NHSMI gives talented high school students a taste of the collegiate
