On-Campus Visit

All prospective students and their families are encouraged to plan a campus visit, preferably scheduled at least two weeks in advance. An information session is offered daily at 11:30 a.m. in the Music Administration Building for undergraduates. Graduate students wishing to discuss the school should call and make an appointment with the admission staff.

For information on campus tours and staying overnight in a residence hall, please contact the University's Undergraduate Admissions Office. To arrange for visits to classes and rehearsals, meetings with faculty, or attending a concert, contact the Bienen School of Music admission staff:

Search and register for special presentations (on and off campus) given by the Office of Music Admission and Financial Aid. You may meet us at

  • high school visits;
  • special topics presentations (audition preparation, financing your education, careers in music);
  • evening on-campus presentations.

Chicago Northshore Music College Fair

Representatives from over 50 of the nation’s top music schools will be on the Northwestern University Evanston Campus for this fair, hosted jointly by the Bienen School of Music and the University of Illinois School of Music.  This free college fair, geared towards both undergraduate and graduate study in music, will be held in Parkes Hall (adjacent to Alice Millar Chapel) on Monday, October 15, from 7 – 9pm.  For parking information, please see our Visit Us page.  For more information, contact Ryan O’Mealey at r-omealey@northwestern.edu.
