The largest orchestra on campus, Philharmonia is open to all Northwestern students.
Rehearsals take place Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00-6:15 p.m. every quarter, with one concert near the end of each quarter. This ensemble is conducted by graduate students Luis Aguilar (music director) and Eli Zelman (assistant conductor).
Audition Information
All students (returning and new) are asked to submit a 5-minute (or less) audition video of a required orchestral excerpt chosen by the music director. This video can also include an optional prepared solo piece of your choosing as well as an optional excerpt for students that wish to be considered for principal positions (also chosen by the music director).
