The Spektral Quartet – whose members include three Bienen School of Music alumni – recently premiered a new work by Hans Thomalla, Bienen School associate professor of composition and music technology.

Thomalla’s “Bagatellen” premiered February 28, 2016, at the Art Institute of Chicago as part of the Frequency Festival. A production of the Frequency Series, the festival’s goal is to bring attention to the strong new music community in Chicago.
