Three Bienen School young alumni will discuss how they are bringing music to their respective communities on Thursday, November 4, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Music Administration Building, Room 109, 711 Elgin Road, on the Evanston Campus. Maud Hickey, associate professor of Music Education, will serve as facilitator. The program will be followed by an informal reception.

The alumni speakers include Lexi Carlson, a music teacher for the Yours Project, an after-school orchestra program in one of Chicago’s Uptown neighborhoods; Michelle Edgar, who is the founder and executive director of the New York City-based MUSIC UNITES; and Ted Ehnle, who has served in the Peace Corps as a general music and English as a Second Language Teacher at the American School of Guatemala.

The program is sponsored, in part, by the Department of Music Studies and the Center for Civic Engagement as well as One Book, One Northwestern, the Northwestern Alumni Association, and the Northwestern University International Program Development.
