McClintock Choral and Recital Room
Formed in 2016 and consisting primarily of Bienen School alumni, the Chicago-based Zafa Collective is dedicated to inclusivity and accessibility in programming and performance. The group actively seeks music from outside the Western canon and from a wide variety of aesthetics. During its first two seasons, Zafa has premiered works by Michal Massoud, Theo Chandler, Erin Cameron, Conner Singh VanderBeek, and Derek Tywoniuk and workshopped music by Ellen Ruth Harrison, Eliza Brown, Augusta Read Thomas, Roger Zare, and Sato Matsui. This Institute for New Music program features new works by current Bienen School composition students.
