Xavier Jara is the winner of numerous awards, including first place in the senior division of the prestigious Guitar Foundation of America Competition. Since winning the youth division of the Indiana International Guitar Competition, he has garnered first prizes in Germany’s 2012 Andrés Segovia Competition, Boston GuitarFest, the International Guitar Competition of Viseu, and Romania’s Sinaia International Guitar Competition. He has also performed on the National Public Radio program From the Top.

Located in the Ryan Center for the Musical Arts, this 400-seat hall features a 40-foot glass wall offering views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline. Undulating walls of Forest Stewardship Council–certified wood, covered with a thin layer of African moabi wood, provide optimal acoustics, and the hall is equipped with state-of-the-art sound and video equipment for recording.
