Winner of a Cleveland Quartet Award, an Avery Fisher Career Grant, and the 2013 Banff International String Quartet Competition, the Dover Quartet is acclaimed for its “high-tech precision” and “dazzling” performances (Dallas Morning News). Highlights of their 2019-20 season include a return to the Savannah Music Festival, a featured appearance in the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s celebration of the Guarneri Quartet, and season-opening concerts for Chamber Music Houston, Duke Performances, and Spivey Hall. The Dover also makes its Zankel Hall debut with frequent collaborator Emanuel Ax and returns to Wigmore Hall to appear with Edgar Meyer. Other collaborators this season include pianist Inon Barnatan, violinist Ray Chen, the Escher Quartet, baritone Davóne Tines, and harpist Bridget Kibbey. In 2020 Cedille Records releases the first recording in the group’s complete Beethoven string quartet cycle. The Dover Quartet’s residency is made possible in part by a grant from the Elizabeth F. Cheney Foundation.
