Four-Summer Master's Music Ed Degree

The four-summer master's degree program in music education is designed for teachers wishing to pursue an advanced degree while maintaining their academic-year employment. Each summer students take three courses, taught by Northwestern's front-rank faculty. Students may also take advantage of private lessons, ensemble participation and the considerable resources of the University, the city of Chicago, and the Ravinia Festival, the summer home of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Only those with a bachelor's degree and certification to teach can complete this program in four summers.

The application deadline for summer 2008 is April 15. Federal loan assistance is available to eligible students.

CPDU CREDITS for State of Illinois public school teachers are available for many of the summer courses.
