SOPRANO NANCY GUSTAFSON TO RECEIVE
2007 ALUMNAE OF NORTHWESTERN AWARD

Soprano Nancy Gustafson will receive the 2007 Alumnae of Northwestern Award on Sunday, September 30, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. in Lutkin Hall, 700 University Place in Evanston.  During the ceremonies she will perform, accompanied by Toni-Marie Montgomery, dean of the School of Music.  A reception will follow in Hardin Hall in the Rebecca Crown Administration Building.  The event is free and open to the public.

Gustafson is one of today’s leading sopranos.  She has appeared major opera houses throughout the world, including the Vienna State Opera, Covent Garden, and La Scala, and in 2007 made her debut with the New York Philharmonic.  Gustafson received a graduate degree from Northwestern’s School of Music where she is currently artist-in-residence.
