Member, Chicago Symphony Orchestra (1986-present). Former member, Rochester Philharmonic. Solo appearances with Texas Chamber Orchestra and Highland Park Strings and in Chicago Cello Society concerts. Studied with Alan Harris, Lee Fiser, Paul Katz, and Lynn Harrell.

Taught at Indiana University, the University of Illinois, the University of Akron, and the Scuola Italia Summer Program for Young Opera Singers in Urbania, Italy. Appeared in recital with Metropolitan Opera singers Martina Arroyo, James King, and Teresa Kubiak. Has been partner to many singers and instrumentalists in concerts throughout the United States, South Korea, Italy, and Puerto Rico, as well as being the official pianist for the Central Illinois Regional Metropolitan Opera Auditions and the University of Iowa Flute Seminars. While at the University of Illinois, he was a student of and assistant to the renowned pianist and coach John Wustman.

Coordinator, first-year theory and aural skills curriculum. Charles Deering McCormick University Distinguished Lecturer. Continued research in pedagogy with an emphasis on technology. Workshops and papers given at national and regional conferences, including the Society for Music Theory, Association for Technology in Music Instruction, Technological Directions in Music Learning, Indiana University at IUPUI Music Technology Conference and the College Music Society. Recipient, University Research Grants Committee and Searle Center for Teaching Excellence grants to develop web-based materials to supplement the undergraduate core curriculum.

Member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra since 1978 and appointed principal violist in 1986 by Sir George Solti. Soloist with many orchestras including the Chicago Symphony. Concertmaster of Oak Park Symphony. Active as a chamber musician. Recorded for Cedille Records. Teachers include Bronislaw Gimpel and Roman Totenberg.
