Jazz piano. Peter Martin is an internationally recognized performer and arranger. He has has appeared with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Berlin Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, Lyon National Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, Sydney Symphony, and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. Touring and recording activities include collaborations with such artists as Wynton Marsalis, Joshua Redman, Christian McBride, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Roy Hargrove, Terence Blanchard, Jazz Futures II, 4-Sight, and Stanley Turrentine. Martin has appeared twice at the White House, performing at the 2012 annual Governors' dinner (with vocalist Dianne Reeves), and in 2011 at a state dinner held in honor of the president of China. Martin’s works have been performed by orchestras worldwide. Currently the musical director and pianist for Dianne Reeves and a member of Chris Botti's touring band, Martin’s honors include Second Prize in the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition. He has served on the music faculties of Tulane University, University of New Orleans, and the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts, and is a Steinway artist.
