Gavin Chuck's research focus is the cognitive basis of musical meaning and integrating music theory with linguistics and anthropology. He is the recipient of the Belle Gitelman Prize for Composition, the Ball Dissertation Year Fellowship, and has presented papers at meetings of the Society for Music Theory.
