Frederick Hemke is an internationally recognized adjudicator and master teacher, as well as active recitalist and guest performer with orchestras and wind ensembles worldwide.   He has recorded with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Kronos Quartet, Stockholm Philharmonic, Eastman Wind Ensemble, and Contemporary Chamber Players, and can be heard on numerous solo albums.  Hemke is also editor of music for solo saxophone and ensemble, author of many articles and educational materials, and a consultant to the Selmer and La Voz Corporations, and the Southern Music Company. Among his many honors are listings in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Music, International Who's Who of Music and Musicians, New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, Baker's Biographical Dictionary of Music and Musicians, Encyclopédie de la Musique Francois Michel, editor), the Distinguished Service to Music Award from Kappa Kappa Psi, and the Premier Prix du Saxophone from Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique, Paris, where he studied with Marcel Mule.  His students hold major teaching and performing positions throughout the world.
