Frank Almond currently holds the Charles and Marie Caestecker Concertmaster Chair at the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. He is the former concertmaster for the Rotterdam Philharmonic and the former guest concertmaster for the London Philharmonic. His recent performances include the Ojai Festival, the American String Project in Seattle, Frankly Music, the Nara (Japan) Academy, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and Music in the Vineyards. He has collaborated previously with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the Hal Leonard Corporation, the Ravinia Festival, and La Jolla Summerfest. Since 1997, he has been a member of the Grammy-nominated chamber group An die Musik. He serves as director of the Frankly Music Chamber Series in Milwaukee. He is a past winner of Nicolo Paganini Competition in Genoa, Italy, and the Eighth International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. His recent recordings include Respighi, Janácek, Strauss (AVIE) with Willam Wolfram on piano; and Portraits & Elegies (Innova Recordings) with Brian Zeger on piano. He studied with Dorothy DeLay, Michael Tseitlin, Felix Galimir and Joseph Silverstein.
