Northwestern University offers financial assistance to students on the basis of need. We are among a small group of private institutions that continue to meet the full demonstrated institutional financial need of aid applicants. The Bienen School of Music does award some merit-based scholarships each year to those whose musical auditions demonstrate remarkable excellence. The majority of financial aid, however, will be determined by the Office of Undergraduate Financial Aid.
To find out how to apply for financial aid, visit the Office of Undergraduate Financial Aid’s website. This website also offers comprehensive information on financial aid topics, student loans for parents and students, and resources to help determine college costs and how to reduce your financial burden. You may also call the Office of Music Admission and Financial Aid at (847) 491-3141 to speak with an admission counselor.
