Gail Williams was a member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra from 1979-98, serving as associate principal horn for the last fourteen years of her tenure. She was also principal horn of the Lyric Opera of Chicago and a founding member of the Chicago Chamber Musicians and the Summit Brass. Currently, Williams serves as principal horn of the Grand Teton Music Festival Orchestra and as a faculty member of Swiss Brass Week. She has been named a Charles Deering McCormick Professor and is recipient of an honorary doctor of fine arts degree from Ithaca College.
