Andrew Raciti is assistant principal bass for the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. Prior to joining the MSO in 2006, he spent nearly five seasons with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the last two as associate principal. He has also performed with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Detroit and Melbourne Symphonies, the Chautauqua (NY) Symphony Orchestra as principal bass, and performs regularly with the new music ensemble Present Music in Milwaukee. He has performed in various music festivals including the Grand Teton Music Festival (where he plays orchestral and chamber music every summer), the National Repertory Orchestra as principal bass, the Sarasota Chamber Music Festival, the Madeline Island Music Festival, and the Festival of the Lakes in Minnesota.
In February 2011 he played the US premiere of a new Double Bass Concerto for Bass and Chamber Orchestra by Macedonian composer Zivojin Glisic, with the Chamber Orchestra of the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Music.
Andrew has studied with Paul Ellison and Richard Davis.
